During the production time of my final project, possibly the biggest amount of construction being done for our high school, we constructed (pardon the pun) a project to give not only our viewers, but our own students who have yet to see the new building a glimpse and what lay under the construction being done for over 3 years now. The beginning consists of b-roll, commentary and videography of what exactly will be going on within our 4 walls that we know now. The middle leading into the end of the video will then consist of more and more b-roll, exclusive footage of what the new building(s) will look like, and much more surprises.
The only conflict in filming and my video may be that of getting through the construction without having items falling and lots of coords, etc. being spread everywhere. The main overall point and need for this video would be to not only show any and all skills I've gaining from my past and current experience, but to create a relatable video for all students who will be attending the new building in the upcoming 2018 school year. (Supporting roles: Shaun Calhoun, Matthew Shinnouda, Main Roles: Louis Carroll (Me) ) ****SELF GRADE BELOW**** - OBJECTIVE - Level 4 (15-20) - Clearly expressed purpose with beginning, middle and ending with b-roll, interview(s) and correct amount running time, etc. - VIDEOGRAPHY - Level 3 (11-15) - Video had most elements, broke few rules of guideline, good overall video. - RESOURCES/STYLE/PRODUCTION/AUDIO - Level 4 (15-20) - Audio was clear, no hard audio spikes down or up, clear and consistent. All over good production, good audio and visuals, etc.\ OVERALL TOTAL FINAL SCORE ON PROJECT = 85%

High school sports have a lot of action being involved every second of the game. "Practice makes perfect," however some sports take this to a whole new, dangerous level. Concussions are becoming so common place in so many everyday high school sports. Football, Baseball, Soccer, even wrestling has its possibilities. Student athletes are having intense amounts of trouble with evading concussions and problems with health. But are these concussions having a positive affect on helping coaches and student bodies prevent more from coming?
Our newest project and my newest video is a feature presentation of what all 19 classic shot set-up's look like. (ie: Tilted, Birds Eye View, PoV, etc.) The presentation features all angles, their descriptors and what they are meant to show and do in a feature film/production process.
The actual footage was taken right here at our high school studio and around the school itself, no special effects, no alteration in any way. All peoples who occurred in the film were given their proper credit and screen time, etc. Altogether the whole production was meant to be an educational short presentation to inform future aspiring film makers such as myself on what shot setup looks like, and what to expect and how to perform perfectly when attempting to execute these shots for their next film/production. During the school day of Sep. 22, 2017, students who chose to join certain student leaders at Ladue High School got to witness and give their own testimonies and acknowledge the unjust police verdict over the Jason Stockley police shooting.
Leaders of the meeting let attending students speak out openly about what they believe should happen to the school to prevent events like this to happen here, and what they believe should be done to increase acceptance and attention to Ladue's mentality of minorities and what names are given to minorities there. Coming to the date of Aug. 21, students and people alike all got to witness the one time event of complete darkness across the United States. The seemingly everlasting path of darkness cause signs of joy and confusion as everyone was expecting complete darkness across the entire U.S, but this special group of students right here at Ladue High School had a very special encounter with the dark path that would cover the sun for only a short time. Screams of joy and excitement surrounded the entire area as the sun went away for a while and the students emotions changed due to their sudden ability to see this event that absolutely won't happen again until Aug. 3 of 2505!
